I seen on the News a few weeks ago a story about 4 year old Angelo Mendoza Jr from Bakersfield, his 34 year old father Angel Vidal Mendoza Sr., showed signs of being high on PCP, chewed his sons right eye right out, and did serious damage to his other eye. I had heard that is kid is blind but now I’m reading they don’t know if his sight will recover or not. The boys mom was not around at the time of the incident but both of the parents were charged in 2006 for a PCP related charge, both parents pleaded no contest to the child endangerment charge. So many people are wondering why the child was given back to the parents, CPS said there has to been serious signs of child abuse like bruises or broken bones.
The child was found on the floor by a 12 year old boy and another neighbor, the dad (wheelchair bound) was found in a near by lot trying to cut his legs off with an ax, when I was hearing the story on the news, it said a neighbor took the ax away then the dad grabbed another pick ax and continued attacking his legs, the neighbor tried to take that away when the dad attempted to bite at the neighbor, he then called the cops.
The child later told the cops “My daddy ate my eyes”
The dad is being held on a 1 million dollar bail (they probably added up all the money he has spent on drugs and set that amount as bail.) Angel Vidal Mendoza is being charged with mayhem, torture, child cruelty and inflicting an injury to a child.

What is going on in our world when stuff like this can happen, that kid should have been taken before, PCP is from what I’ve heard one of the most dangers and most hallucinative drugs, something like this was bound to happen sooner or later.
I hear so many stories about infants being born needing methadone because of the drugs their parents consumed during their preganany. Why is it, we give these babies the fix they need to survive, then hand them right into the arms of the person at fault. Is this not enough to prove child abuse? If you are selfish and sick enough to not stop your drugs while you are pregnant what other lengths will you go to for your drugs? Years ago, Tamra Keepness went missing and it was rumored the mother had owed drug money, and the child was sold into sex trafficing. The possibilites are endless as to what can happen to these children in situations where parents are drug (and alcohol) addicts.
I know of a girl who has had 6 or 7 kids, the only one born not needing methadone was born in a jail hospital. She freely provides and uses drugs with her tweenage children, and just popped out another one.
Although this is going to sound harsh to anyone who doesn’t know a child who is a product of this kind of behavior, women who give birth to children needing methadone should ofcourse have their child taken away (DUH!) but they should have to get their tubes tied, or a mandatory contraceptive inserted such as a 5yr “butterfly” or whatever those creepy lil things are. When you will go to the lengths some of these people have gone to to get their drugs, there’s no way they are heading to the doctor to pick up their 40 dollar a month pack of pills let alone remembering to take them everyday.
Giving birth should be a privilege not a right. Every child deserves the right to a healthy first 9 months and a safe life with loving parents.
