Wow! Where to begin on this one….. Why the heck do we let monkeys live in Conneticut?? This are wild aminals, the owner of this beast (I love animals don’t get me wrong, but take a look at buddy with the tigers, those tigers have been raised in captivity, and still hold on to those animalistic tendancies?) anyhoo! The owner the Travis the Chimp is 55 years young, –(there is no way in hell I would hop into my car while my “pet” is potenially killing my friend, if your dog attacks someone you do something about the dog to help the person… maybe thats just Canadians (we used to have an EVIL CAT! lol))– there’s no way this woman could have helped even if she wanted too, when the chimp escaped a few years ago the city should have stepped in and taken the animal to a more sufficient enviroment… say, somewhere he doesn’t use a toilet?
Also I’ve heard that the monkey had been given a Xanax? I didn’t hear anything about that on CNN so I can’t say for sure if I believe it, but let’s say this is true for a minute! WTF? A XANAX? Then your taking him out to visit? Ahh this whole situation just boggles my mind!
The chimp at first was stabbed by the owner with a kitchen knife in attempt to rule him off of her friend, she also hit the chimp with a chovel. The cops showed up shortly after that when the chimp opened the cop car door and attempting to attack the cop, then was shot by an officer. I don’t think this monkey is at fault, these animals are not meant to live in houses, this monkey (esspecially if on Xanax) attacked in defense wether he was provoked or not. Housepets attack, they will swat at you, give ya a little scratch, mine used to like to nipple on my feet…. if we have “pets” such as lions and 200 pound chimpanzee’s (owned by 55yr woman) …. we are almost asking for these things to happen, a 130-150 pound chimp has the strength of 3 men, they are not those cute little baby chimps we watch in the movies!!
I pray the victim has a full recovery, that’s a lifetime of guilt on the owner if she doesn’t….
