DJ Hero Won’t Save You From Boredom.

So my pal brought over his DJ Hero last weekend and left it with us for the week to check it out. I just couldn’t get into it. They had some pretty phat mash-ups or remixs or whatever but the scratching sound got annoying really fast and there’s just not enough going on there, even on hard. I found the same problem with Guitar Hero. It’s an awesome party game if you have people over but it’s not a game you just sit and play by yourself. And playing these games isn’t going to teach you how to really scratch on a turntable or play a guitar, maybe the drums? lol I don’t play drums but it could work. I had my birthday night over the weekend and we ended up turning that off to play my ever so loved SINGSTAR …so that will show you gamers how enjoyable DJHero really was lol.

I say No to DJhero for serious gamers, but if you have the extra 130 and need another game accessory collecting dust, go for it.

I preordered my copy of The New Super Mario Bros for Wii, picked it up as soon as WalMart opened November 15th and I must say it is the best WII game EVER! I’m soo happy to go back to basics with some classic Super Mario Bros. I swear the SNES Super Mario pretty much raised me. The pros to this game is it a cooperation game, you can have 1-4 players playing at the same time, they bring Yohsi in for a few levels, they have hidden secrets to skip levels (Just like old times!! ) These are easily found online by googling Mario cheats, if your interested, I prefer to play the game all the way through then screw around with secrets and whatnot. Anyhoo!! Last super awesome pro for this game! Well last 2, Bowzer is completely badass!! You never know when you’ve really beat him, I think there are 3 to beat in World 8, AND There’s a star world! I thought for sure when I first started playing and noticed all the similarities between the new Mario and the older games that there had to be a starworld. After you get thru the 3rd Bowzer it opens up Star World, then you have to go through each world and collect all the stars to open each Star World Level. Which is rather hard, luckly there are walkthroughs also posted online so if you are having problems finding em you can always watch those.

Cons of the game I’d say are those stupid star coins, but that’s just me, I’ve never been one to walk through and collect everything, I just love running through the levels, if I get to the end I win. But no, lol gotta get all 3 of them in every level, in every world. Lame. Another con is playing with 4 players is very hard, you are constantly getting jumped on and jumping on others, knocking people into holes and ducks, it can get very irritating. Last con, You can’t be Princess Peach! This is another game where you are fighting to get her back, I just love playing the old Mario 2 where you can be Princess and float with her dress, she was my favorite character to be.

Welp, that’s myeffinview on the New Super Mario Bros for Wii. I give it a 5 outta 5, 2 thumbs up FO SHO FO SHO! Best Wii Game by Far!

P.S. Super Paper Mario sucks hard and was a huge waste of money.

Yay- We lost the Grey Cup!

I was the only one full of glee when the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost the Grey Cup on November 29th. Why am I happy you ask? Well this first estimated 350 million, now 600 million dollar stadium the city has been wanting to build would have half built by now if we would have won. Not everyone loves football and anyone with kids under 5 don’t get out to concerts to often. I’m not a poor sport. If our city wasn’t ghetto looking and falling apart, I’d be all for getting my tax money (which is already TOO EFFIN MUCH and going to people who don’t need it) ripped outta my hands to go to a bunch of hooligans wearing watermelons on their heads. I was a highschool cheerleader, I got team spirit up to my ears but take a look around. Look at our schools, look at our streets, look at the core area of our city. That’s it, the core area of our city, I’m convinced the only reason some board members are pushing so hard for this damn staduim is to get it out of the “Hood” Welp, you built it there, and it hasnt stopped anyone from going to see their fav artist or seeing a game. It didn’t stop the Rolling Stones from jamming here and it’s not going to stop Bon Jovi. Someone tell me why this is nessascary, I know at first they said it would cost an estimated 150 million to repair Mosaic stadium, so why not double that a build a dome but now they are estimating it much much higher so why aren’t we looking on going back to plan A. Maybe take some of that surplus money Regina is supposed to have and throw it into repairing the main streets and then talk to us about putting 600 million dollars into a new dome stadium with a removable ceiling. C’mon this is Regina?!? That’s not going to bring bigger names here, and who the hecks bigger than THE STONES MAN!?!?

AND Thanks to Regina hotels putting in 10 million dollars, if this were a dinner we all went out too that’d be what we’d leave for a tip if ur thinking about how much this is really going to cost the citizens of Regina. That’s nothing, and who’s really going to benefit from this? HOTELS! They are already sold right out during any Mosaic stadium event, they will find a way to profit from more people being seated at the dome stadium.

Let’s all remember a time when the stands didn’t even hum, NOONE went, now we are all pro in the past 3-4 years and now it’s cool to have Rider Pride? What happens when our team starts sucking again?? We hope the Stones come back? I don’t think so. People who are making these plans gotta think long term, how long is it going to take this place to be built? Long enough for the Riders to start sucking around? Probably.

And Lastly, None of our players are even from here anymore? They are a bunch of Americans, Saskatchewan Roughriders…pfft. What a joke.

I used to enjoy football, now a win means bad things to me.

Leave Kayne Alone!!!

I’m totally gunna look stupid because I just blogged a while ago about how stupid Kaynes been caught looking but I have to say, Leave Kayne West Alone. He had said Sorry how many fricken times? How many people are gunna get up in his business about this 4 second mistake? Chris Brown beat lil Rihanna, jacked up her face, bit her face, it fricken seems like everyone wants to be his friend still?? None of the spineless celebrities were up to comment about that when that went down but all of a sudden everyones got something to say to Kayne? He drank a little too much, got a little pyshced about Beyonces video, I mean maybe this is the VMA’s fault for allowing the award to go to a country singer, that was a first for them wasn’t it? How can Taylor Swift and Beyonce even be up for the same award? Ridonks.

I don’t want to sound like I agree with what he did, I don’t at all, but I don’t think he should be condemned for it, remember back to the Britney Madonna and Xtina kiss? That had to have offended more small minded anti-gay Americans than Kayne did with his outburst. And all 3 of those skanks seem to be doing just fine.

We have all put our foot in our mouths at some point in our lives, even Miss Kelly Clarkson who ranted off in a blog about how pathedic Kayne West is? And Pink who tweeted something along the same lines. (I love you Pink, mostly because you usually mind your own and don’t give a F about this celebrity B.S) The old douchebag Mickey Rourke even said to TMZ that Kayne West can “Suck his ***** ****” Mick you look just as stupid as K.W at the awards, cept Kayne apoligized. Other than Pink, it sounds like a whole bunch of somewhat washed up people trying to milk a bit of this hoopla for themselves.

What I find the funniest about all this is Taylor Swift doesn’t even seem that upset by all this? She got her award, Beyonce gave her time to have her lil “moment” Everyones happy, or not. Obama now has a video circulating calling Kayne a jackass, Well Mr.President, I think you need to get back to work and stop worrying about Taylor Swift, she’s a big girl and can take care of herself, you on the other hand have a whole country to take care of? I keep hearing the recession is over but I haven’t really seen anything done yet? I hear plans but no action. You are losing the creditability you came into your presidency with, everyone is making fun of your celebrity. I remember Joy Behar from The View saying right after you won that she was bummed that she wasn’t going to be able to make president jokes anymore but you seem to be giving everyone ample amount of ammo to continue.

I hate the power we give to celebrities to consume us in all this pety nonsense.

Boys Will Be Perverts? …..

I read an article in the Leaderpost about a 15 year old boy who was allegedly sexually assulted by 4 youth and 2 adults at a party with a beer bottle. The aunt of the victim is taking a stand against the mother of the boy who threw the party stating that she is minimizing the seriousness of this crime. My first thought is, what is going on in these parents head that any kind of sexual misconduct is O.K? If that were a 15 year old girl, the whole city would be rioting against the accused. My second thought? Why the hell isn’t any one charging these parents for knowing there were minors drinking in their house? Last I checked that was illegal? The article said they were aware of people bringing in beer, that they only served pop and snacks. I think these youth shouldn’t even be facing charges for that fact alone, the adults should be jailed no doubt, but the parents should be held liable for what happened to that boy, even if he was drunk (article also states the kid was passed out when the alleged assault happened.)

My final thought, the artlicle said the kids were video taping and snapping pictures with their cellphones. YOU KIDS ARE PIGS. Back in my day, when we drank ILLEGALLY someone had my back when I had too much just as I had my friends back when they over drank themselves. There is no hope for the future, teenagers are getting more and more stupid every year, and I can’t help but put it on parents who try to belittle very serious accusations such as sexual assult on a minor? As for you all that had these pictures on your cellphones, that sure sounds like child porn? What is the legal age here? Possession as well as distributing (I know you little jerks sent those pictures to anyone with a fricken blackberry!)

Since When Are Drunks Above the Law???

My eyes almost popped outta my head when I read the quote from the LeaderPost saying “”Intoxication to the point that the person doesn’t really know what he’s doing will reduce murder to manslaughter, and this is one of those cases where it’s happened.” in regards to the gang shooting in Saskatoon back in Oct 2007. Since when is being drunk an out to take a murder charge to manslaughter? I really need to go study law because I just don’t get it?

It also reads that this guy will most likely be out within 2 years?!? What is goin on here, what kind of message are we sending to these kids about being involved in gang voilence? You’ll be out beofre or shortly after your 21st birthday.. We need to start making examples out of these people, show them there is NO TOLERANCE for gangs or their crimes. The guy that was shot was also in a gang? Why do we allow people to congregate in the manner they do? Sitting around causing trouble for hard working tax payers. Collecting their money from the gov’t, Whoops, I mean our money? There has to be something done about these hoodlums, there is a 3 year old baby girl without a dad now, and the kid that shot him will be outta jail before this kid starts school.

Make it stop. Make these people stop acting like animals and start conforming into being a valuable citizen instead of a burden to society! The people that have the power to make change are the highest paid people, that reap all the benefits, earn your wage and your lifestyle, keep me safe, that’s what your there for NOT to make bad judgement. You’d almost think they are scared of these little hoodlums. (And what that being said, the gang names these days are SAD, they sound like an updated version of the Outsiders lol, Native Pride? If you had any you wouldn’t be acting like animals. I have Native Pride, not you! Saskatchewan Warriors? The definition of Warrior is One who is engaged in or experienced in battle. The only people you are battling is each other, you wanna battle something? Battle our money getting thrown down the tubes for a new stupid stadium (Mostly likely because they want it away from all the crime in the core area of Regina.) Battle the reputation you have built for your families, battle the way people sterotype me because of YOUR actions.

If members would take half of the time and energy they put into their gangs the city would be a better place. I’m so ashamed to be from here.

Don’t Go Here: Moore’s

We have spent over a year getting ready for my best friends wedding,. and like usual, everything that can go wrong has. First her photographer called and said he had been double booked, but like a good business man he had arranged for another photographer to take his place. Then, their marriage licenses were put on a delay due to an I.D issue, that was taken care of by a lovely lady downtown, the bride so far has been taking everything like a champ, doing her best not to panic. She had picked a suit over a year ago, when we went in for our fittings a couple of weeks ago we were notified those suits are available to rent but aren’t available for weddings, whatever that is supposed to mean, so then the groom picks another suit, the rest of the groomsmen put their deposit down, THEN they are told the suits that they had picked aren’t available in the grooms size. So they go and pick a 3rd suit(which may I add is a COMPLETE damper on the brides day seeing as tho she has set her theme around these suits.) The bride had discussed with the consultant that she had quoted all the groomsmen a price and did not want to make them pay more, at this time the consultant agees to the quoted price. We go in today to pick up the suit, the total we ewre given was more than double what we had expected to pay, we inform them what the bride had told us to the consultant who we had been dealing with the whole time, she was very rude in saying the suits were not that price, we told her we would come back with the bride, she said go ahead you aren’t going to get it for that price. Another young looking girl was right beside her singing the same damn song. They were both super rude and acted very smug. We then had to go back 2 hours later with the bride and have it worked out, the bride had to remind her that she “RUINED” her suits and that she had “PROMISED” to give the suits for the price of the original suits. She then gave us the discount we had been promised but it was such a mess to get it, don’t screw with a bride on her wedding day, MOSTLY because once a bunch of women go to a wedding they ALL wanna get married after, which means big CHA-CHING for Moore’s if they hadn’t been such douches.

I strongly recommend not going through this company, they aren’t professional, and don’t seem to know what customer service is. And if you do choose to go through them watch out for the girl with the lisp, she does NOT know what she is doing. For an occasion such a wedding you would like a no hassel experience when it comes to something as important as your suits.

What a disapointment!

Ellen The New Judge on Idol?

I was doing my nightly rounds tonight on TMZ and stumbled upon a video from Ellens show saying she’s going to be a judge on American Idol. This excites me, but I can’t help feeling it’s a prank, she doesn’t have a musical backround, the video doesn’t seem like a joke tho so it’s hard to say what they are up too! I also confirmed it on her Twitter.
Ellen would by no means be a replacement for Paula, I don’t think anyone could fill those shoes. I am going to miss her but am looking foward to getting into the new season, I haven’t watched since the first season, well thats a lie. I always watch the first few episodes, all the try-outs I hope this isn’t a prank and wish her all the luck with Idol, she’s got such a good attitude, maybe she will soften up Simon, the ol’ grumply basterd!

Yorkton Dad Stays in Jail after Gunning down Drug Dealer.

I just finished reading in the LeaderPost that Kim Walker, the father of Jadah (a morphine addicted woman) had his 2nd request for bail denied.
I have a close friend in Yorkton (it being a small town, news travels fast) who knew about this girl and the dealer before the shooting happened, her father made several attempts to take her away from Hayward, Jadah had been dating him at the time while they were both hooked on hard drugs. (I believe she was a minor when this had happened 6 years ago) James Hayward would not allow the father to take the girl. I’m going to confirm her age with my friends from Yorkton, but I’m sure she was 16 at the time. I had heard this story so long ago that it’s all a little fuzzy but I’ll get more information on the families and update later.
All I really wanted to say is if I were in that position, I’d be happy to serve my time knowing that this guy is off the streets, don’t mess with people and their kids, there is no limit to how far I’d go for my daughter. Kids don’t get how much drugs can really get a hold of you, and how much men can really manipulate you. I pray that Jadah has since moved past her drug lifestyle and holds her dad in the highest regard. If it weren’t for him she’d probably be dead. I find comfort knowing that this father can sleep at night (maybe in a cold jailcell and crap beds) but atleast he knows where his little girl is.
There are grizzly details to this story and I’m gunna try my hardest to find them out!

We need to start making an examples out of these drug dealers that take advantage of people, why does someone have to die before serious charges get brought on to them, if the cops in Yorkton had caught him peddling his drugs then this father wouldn’t have had to go to the extend that he did. Why, in todays world (Regina having the highest crime rate in Canada) do we punish the unsung heros! This guy should get a metal, not locked up. I’m sure many would disagree with me but any parent in the same position would have done the same thing, I don’t care who you are or what you say now. From what I have been told he had tried everything in his power to get his daughter away from this monster.
Yorkton is a more peaceful place with this guy off the streets, if Mr.Walker hadn’t done what he did, Jadah would have been getting to old and strung out and he would be lurking on YOUR 16 year old daughter. I personally Thank You Mr. Kim Walker, your daughter owes you her life, I respect what you did….

Regina has the highest crime rate in Canada, again. Sigh.

Regina has once again won (or lost, depending on how you look at it) Highest Crime Rate in Canada for 2008. Here’s my effin view on why that is :

1.Welfare and Low Income Programs: They might as well call our Welfare program the Set for Life lottery. If the people sitting on their asses collecting free money would get up and get a job they wouldn’t have so much time to commit crimes? (Logical Thinking or no?) We almost pay them to commit these crimes if you think about it? The system needs to be updated, there should be time frames on which you can milk these programs and there should be requirements (Shit jobs, cleaning highways, anything that isn’t fun, ANYTHING to get these people working) These people should be almost treated like criminals, we should not be cutting them checks but giving them vouchers, I mean, do anything in our power to make the system miserable to be on, which sounds unfair to people that do need the help and I’m not bashing them at all, that’s probably (who knows) what the system was made for, but over the years has been so badly abused, it’s not a right, it’s a priviledge (and really, I can call it whatever I want, ITS MY MONEY)

2. Our Justice System and Police Service: I cannot tell you how many times we’ve gotten caught in one of those stupid speed traps, you really need 12 cops sitting in a parking lot ENTRAPPING people, that’s a load? And the stop checks? I really really hate drunk drivers and I’m all for catching those buggers, I don’t mind getting pulled over and talked to, I don’t drink and drive so I have nothing but time, but really, the biggest skank bars right now are Just Dirties (J.D’s) and The Pump, never once have I seen a stop check over there, I work Thursday nights starting at 11pm, you have no idea how many drunks I see on my way to work. Anyhoo, enough about police dodging doing any real work, LITERALLY waiting for the criminals to come to them, how about my friend….hmm..we’ll call her Sally. She called Crimestoppers to report a drug dealer, she gave them all of him information and where he can be found on EVERY night of the week. Well, you will all be NOT happy to learn he is still slinging his drugs outside Brewsters. So you like when the criminals come to you? Well theres one? You didn’t hop right on getting him of the street? Another example? My old neighbors used to get harassed by their neighbors in North Central, they called the police, because nobody seen them vandalize their home, EVEN THO it was vandalized with a 4 litre tub of salad dressing AND the bitch who did it, her family owns a catering business?!? Do we need to bring CSI in here to figure this shit out ?? They ended up getting a nannycam, (the polices VERY helpful advice) Well big surprise nothing happened once their was a big old camera ? NOW for a personal experience, I got piled on by a bunch of hoodrats, a whole fucking clan, I think there was 6 of them, right in front of my house, the police didn’t press any chargers, infact MY MOTHER almost got charged for pulling girls off of me!?!?!? (I’m sure some cop will come along commenting on my page, go ahead, say whatever in your defense but I pay your check to! It’s my money! I should atleast have the right to critique the job you are (or aren’t) doing, I know the people who pay me have a lot of say as far as coaching my work.

3.Schools/Education- Even though this has a lot of do with people ripping of the gov’t and literally having no money left for schools (other than the 7000 we gave to Scott Collegiate for DISPOSABLE CAMERAS, so they can LET THEM LOOSE in North Central and take pictures of WHATEVER?!) The big problem is our expectations of kids coming from the North Central schools, I went into highschool not picking up a Science Book, doing no math other than basic multiplication and division. These teachers expect these kids to drop out or do nothing to further their education, and then they see people later in life not doing as well as they could and say, “I told you, wouldn’t go nowhere!” Well ofcourse! These kids leave Grade 8 with a Grade 5 education and leave Grade 12 with a Grade 9 education AT BEST!

You wonder why there is crime and poverty, there you have it ? It seems cold and mean, but I’ve experienced North Central first hand, lived their for 17 years. The gas station I worked at for 3 years, I won’t even go into, when my fiance and I drive through the hood, people look at me like I’m a prostitute because of our races, which just comes to show people call it like they see it. Nothing is going to change with the people, the change needs to start on these systems we’ve laid out for them, making it possible for them to commit these crimes, the last thing this city needs to do is build a new stadium, WHICH IS RUMORED that they are only building it to get it out of North Central, whats your next fix Pat, are you going to build a barrier from Albert to Lewvan?? You put a bunch of pitbulls into a pen, they’re gunna fight. Stop wasting our money, throw out everything you know and start again and maybe I’ll take Regina out of the Don’t Go Here Regina catagory.
